Core Responsibilities Construct and join steel parts, frames, and structural elements for precast concrete production. Analyze technical drawings, shop schematics, and precise work orders to guide production. Cut, shape, and join metal materials to meet exact project requirements. Utilize MIG welding techniques to create durable joints and perform necessary equipment repairs. Manage various hand and power tools, including drills, saws, and grinders, to complete tasks. Ensure fabrication machinery is configured correctly to maximize operational efficiency. Prepare metal hardware and reinforcing steel to support the concrete manufacturing process. Utilize positioning tools and jigs to align and weld components with high precision. Verify that finished assemblies meet quality standards and dimensional accuracy. Confirm project precision by using calipers, levels, squares, and tape measures. Refine metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and deburring finished pieces. Detect and resolve fabrication errors or equipment malfunctions to maintain workflow. Support the upkeep and minor repair of shop tools and machinery. Safely transport heavy materials using hoists, cranes, or forklifts when certified. Help the team achieve consistent production goals by meeting daily output targets. Promote a secure workplace by strictly adhering to all safety protocols and wearing required gear. Ensure the shop floor remains orderly and equipment is properly maintained. Coordinate with team members and management regarding material needs and production status. Complete additional production or maintenance tasks as requested by leadership.
