Job Description

We are seeking certified structural welders for a commercial construction project building a high school. Welders will be responsible for structural steel welding using 7018 stick welding on A36 plate. Candidates must be experienced in structural steel fabrication/erection and able to produce quality welds that meet project and AWS requirements. Qualifications Current welding certification meeting

requirements Proficient with SMAW (Stick) welding using 7018 electrodes Experience welding A36 structural steel plate Strong structural steel welding experience Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and structural drawings Ability to perform fillet and groove welds in various positions Must be able to pass a project-specific weld test, if required Knowledge of proper welding procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards OSHA/site safety training is preferred Must have and use a full-body safety harness and lanyard when required on the project Responsibilities Perform structural steel welding using 7018 stick electrodes Weld A36 steel plate and structural components according to project specifications Inspect welds for quality and ensure proper fit-up and penetration Read and follow structural drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols Maintain proper welding techniques and procedures Follow all OSHA, site-specific, and company safety requirements Properly wear and use required fall-protection equipment, including harnesses and lanyards Maintain a clean and safe work area Work efficiently with ironworkers, welders, and other construction personnel Physical Requirements & Safety Ability to work outdoors and on an active construction site Safety harness and lanyard are required for this project when working at heights or in designated fall-protection areas Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in awkward positions for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
