The ideal candidate will be responsible for precision welding and fabrication of metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications. Responsibilities Perform TIG welding on various metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Interpret mechanical blueprints and fabrication shop drawings accurately to guide welding and assembly processes. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to ensure precise measurements and fit-up of parts. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment safely and efficiently during fabrication tasks. Conduct quality inspections using gauges like calipers and micrometers to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy. Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites or within fabrication shops. Collaborate with team members on assembly, fitting, and welding tasks while adhering to American Welding Society (AWS) standards. Maintain a clean work area, properly handle metal materials, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Assist in the interpretation of technical drawings related to mechanical fabrication projects. Support the use of various welding techniques including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and TIG welding. Skills Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of site safety protocols. Proficiency in TIG welding along with experience in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and MIG welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical schematics accurately. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication, machining, assembly, and metal materials handling. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Familiarity with shop math principles essential for precise fabrication tasks. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and metal materials in a manufacturing or construction environment. Knowledge of safety standards established by the American Welding Society (AWS) and OSHA regulations. Competence in operating power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment. Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint interpretation for accurate assembly and welding procedures. Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for fabrication measurements and adjustments. Mechanical fabrication expertise including assembly, fitting, cutting, grinding, and welding of metal components.
