This position involves working on diverse metal materials, interpreting technical drawings, and executing precise welds that meet industry standards. Duties Perform TIG welding on a variety of metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Interpret mechanical blueprints and fabrication shop drawings accurately to guide welding and assembly processes. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise dimensions and fit-up of components. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) equipment efficiently for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts. Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy according to AWS standards. Fabricate components through welding, machining, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication techniques while maintaining safety protocols. Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety procedures during welding, grinding, cutting, and handling of metal materials. Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving mechanical fabrication, assembly, and structural welding. Ensure compliance with all safety standards related to construction site work, crane operation (if applicable), and handling of heavy equipment. Experience Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops involving metalworking tasks. Demonstrated proficiency in TIG welding along with other techniques such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and stick welding. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Familiarity with the use of measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precision measurement. Hands-on experience with plasma cutting, machining operations, and assembly processes. Knowledge of AWS (American Welding Society) standards for quality assurance in welding practices. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively. Mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication processes including sheet metal fabrication and structural assembly. Prior experience working with various metal materials in a fabrication or construction setting is preferred.
