In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, layout, fitting, and installing structural components with precision and adherence to technical drawings and safety standards. Your expertise in metal fabrication, welding, and measurement tools will ensure the integrity and quality of our projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction fabrication projects, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and fabrication skills to contribute to large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately assemble structural and misc. components. Measure, cut, shape, and fit metal materials using measuring instruments, tape measures, squares and hand tools to meet project specifications. Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), ensuring compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment for metal fabrication and assembly tasks. Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly of structural and misc. elements in the shop. Maintain safety protocols at all times during fabrication, welding, and assembly activities to promote a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members in the shop to complete projects efficiently while adhering to quality standards. Requirements Proven fabrication shop experience with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. Proficiency in operating forklifts, power tools, measuring instruments, and hand tools used in structural and misc steel fitting. Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and with knowledge of AWS standards. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately. Experience with sheet metal fabrication, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly of structural and misc steel components. Mechanical knowledge combined with shop math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations. Familiarity with safety protocols related to welding, fabrication shops, and construction sites. Strong attention to detail when using tape measures, squares, measuring instruments, and other precision tools. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
