Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder - Structural to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication of structural metal components used in construction and industrial projects. Your expertise will ensure that all welds meet strict safety, quality, and industry standards, contributing to the successful completion of complex projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of metal materials, utilize advanced welding techniques, and uphold safety protocols on a fast-paced construction site environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures. Perform welding operations using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) to join structural steel and sheet metal components accurately. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and measuring tapes to ensure precise dimensions and fit-up of fabricated parts. Operate plasma cutters, gas metal arc welding equipment, and other power tools to cut, shape, and assemble metal materials according to project specifications. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints for mechanical fabrication, ensuring adherence to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and safety protocols. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while following safety guidelines at all times. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and quality control throughout the fabrication process. Requirements Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with metal structures. Strong knowledge of welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately. Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly processes. Familiarity with safety protocols specific to welding environments and construction sites. Experience operating hand tools, power tools, cranes, and other equipment used in structural fabrication. Ability to interpret technical drawings for mechanical fabrication tasks confidently. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced setting.
