Overview RNA Automatic Gates is looking for an experienced Lead Fence & Gate Fabricator to help establish and lead our in-house fabrication operation. We are seeking a hands-on professional who can take measurements and drawings and independently fabricate high-quality custom steel gates, fences, railings, and related products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of production and grow with an established gate company. Responsibilities Fabricate custom steel swing gates, sliding gates, pedestrian gates, fences, railings, and related metal products. Read measurements, sketches, plans, and shop drawings and turn them into completed products. Measure, cut, fit, weld, grind, and finish steel accurately. Perform high-quality MIG welding and produce clean, professional finished work. Prepare material lists and help order steel, hardware, hinges, tracks, wheels, and other fabrication supplies. Plan fabrication methods and identify potential issues before production begins. Maintain quality control and confirm that completed products match the required measurements and design. Help organize the shop, tools, materials, workflow, and production schedule. Train and supervise helpers as the fabrication department grows. Occasionally visit job sites for measurements, installation support, or troubleshooting. Requirements Strong experience fabricating custom steel gates and fences is highly preferred. Strong MIG welding, cutting, fitting, grinding, and metal-finishing skills. Ability to build a complete gate or fence from measurements or drawings with minimal supervision. Understanding of swing gates, sliding gates, pedestrian gates, hinges, tracks, wheels, posts, and gate hardware. Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic shop math. Experience preparing material lists and estimating fabrication time. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and pride in workmanship. Ability to lead helpers and take responsibility for shop production. Valid driver's license preferred. Schedule and Compensation Full-time position. Monday through Friday. $35-$45 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated ability. Candidates may be asked to complete a paid practical welding and fabrication test.
