Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shop Helper to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our workshop by assisting with material handling, equipment setup, and basic fabrication tasks. Your enthusiasm and willingness to learn will contribute significantly to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in machining, fabrication, and assembly processes while supporting a dynamic manufacturing team. Duties Assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts and hand tools, ensuring safe handling practices. Prepare materials by measuring with tape measures to ensure proper dimensions for fabrication. Read blueprints to aid in assembly and fabrication tasks. Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment such as band saws, drill press, iron worker and welding tools to assist in manufacturing processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and procedures. Custodial and cleaning of shop, to maintain an enjoyable and safe place to work. Requirements Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, sheet metal work, and fabrication techniques. Ability to operate or learn to operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment such as band saws, drill press, iron worker and welding tools, and forklifts. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and tooling for assembly or fabrication tasks. Strong attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Willingness to learn new skills related to fabrication techniques and safety procedures.
