Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Structural Steel Fitter/Welder to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse fabrication projects, interpret detailed blueprints, and utilize advanced welding techniques. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding of steel structures Measure, mark, cut, and shape metal materials using calipers, micrometers, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other power tools Tack Weld components in preparation for final welding Assemble fabricated parts with precision using rigging equipment, hand tools, and mechanical knowledge to ensure proper fit-up and alignment Operate cranes and other lifting devices safely to position heavy steel components during fabrication and assembly processes Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies throughout all tasks Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure compliance with project requirements Identify and resolve fit-up issues or discrepancies in drawings Skills Minimum 2 years of structural steel fitting experience in a fabrication shop Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings accurately Stair and rail building experience is a plus Basic welding/tacking experience preferred Proficient with tape measure (including fractions) and layout tools Working knowledge of structural steel shapes, materials, and connections Familiarity with construction equipment such as cranes and press brake machines Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and shop math effectively Knowledge of ASME codes & standards for structural steel fabrication Commitment to safety protocol adherence in all aspects of work Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Pay:

$28.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
