Job Overview We are seeking a skilled metal fabricator with sufficient welding and machining experience. We specialize in fabricating custom railings (interior and exterior), fencing, and gates for homes. Tubed metal is our standard structural material, exclusively in aluminum and stainless steel. Applicants should have experience in working with previously mentioned types and structure of metals. This includes knowledge in following set diagrams, plans, or blueprints in order to conduct the steps into cutting, welding, grinding, and sanding into the final product. We operate from a small shop so awareness of others in the workspace and ability to cooperate well with others is key. Added Notes For clarity sheet metal experience is NOT in consideration, tubed metals are our main material. Duties Read and interpret detailed mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and dimensions. Measure, mark, and layout metal materials using measuring instruments and shop math to ensure precise cuts and assemblies. Operate power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble tubed metal and other metal materials according to project requirements. Perform welding operations, exclusively on MIG machines Use fabrication techniques such as machining, bending, and assembly to create finished products that meet quality standards. Adhere to safety protocols and OSHA regulations during all phases of fabrication work to maintain a safe working environment. Cooperate with employees on projects involving mechanical fabrication, assembly, and interpretation of local and state building codes. Skills Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints Skilled in operating welding equipment, specifically MIG welding machines Competent in using measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and shop math for accurate fabrication. Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, metal fabrication, machining processes, and assembly techniques. Familiarity with power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and hand tools necessary for fabrication tasks. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and handling of heavy machinery on the shop floor. Experience working within a fabrication shop environment with a focus on craftsmanship and quality assurance.
