Your Mission:
Keeping the Fleet in the Fight As a GFL Welder, your focus goes beyond simple repairs. You are the backbone of our maintenance shop, ensuring our heavy-duty vehicles and waste equipment are safe and road-ready.
Vehicle & Equipment Focus:
Perform expert welding, cutting, and fabrication on our specialized fleet of solid waste handling trucks and equipment.
Precision Fabrication:
Lay out and execute structural and non-structural welds to reinforce and repair heavy steel components.
Total Project Ownership:
From grinding and prep to the final coat of paint, you'll ensure every repair meets GFL's high standards for quality and safety.
Inventory & Shop Care:
Maintain your tools and supplies, keeping a clean, efficient workspace that would make any pro proud.
Team Collaboration:
Work side-by-side with our mechanics and shop managers to tackle complex repairs and keep our "Green" fleet on the street. What You'll Need to
Bring Experience:
At least two years of welding/fabrication experience or a certification of basic welding skills. Tools of the
Trade:
Your own basic personal tools (welding shield, hand wrenches, etc.).
Physical Grit:
Ability to handle the demands of a busy shop, including lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and working in various weather conditions.
Mindset:
A strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.
Bonus Points:
