Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Fitter/Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting mechanical blueprints, fabricating metal components, and executing precise welding techniques to produce high-quality structures and assemblies. Your expertise will ensure that all projects meet strict safety standards and adhere to industry codes such as AWS (American Welding Society) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction and fabrication projects, utilizing advanced welding methods and fabrication tools in a fast-paced environment. Duties Read and interpret detailed mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to guide assembly and welding processes Perform metal fabrication tasks including cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment Execute various welding techniques such as MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW, and SMAW (stick welding) in accordance with AWS standards and project specifications Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication Set up and operate welding equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols and ASME codes for quality assurance Assemble fabricated parts into final structures or assemblies following mechanical blueprint interpretation and assembly instructions Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times Qualifications Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with metal materials such as steel, aluminum, or sheet metal Strong knowledge of mechanical fabrication processes, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings Proficiency in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with certifications preferred Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, plasma cutting equipment, machining tools, and measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers Ability to perform shop math accurately for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks Mechanical knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication practices Experience working with metal materials in accordance with safety protocols on construction sites or fabrication environments Excellent understanding of safety procedures related to welding operations and construction site activities Join our team to bring precision craftsmanship to life through innovative fabrication solutions!
