In this role, you will be responsible for executing complex welding tasks on structural steel components, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of large-scale construction projects, where quality and efficiency are paramount. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced welding techniques and collaborate with a team dedicated to excellence in metal fabrication. Responsibilities Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to determine welding specifications and procedures. Perform structural welding using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes. Measure and mark metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Set up and operate power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment for cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials. Fabricate, assemble, and weld structural components on-site or in the shop, ensuring compliance with safety protocols at all times. Use crane operations safely for lifting heavy metal parts during fabrication or installation processes. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspection reports, and quality control documentation.
AWS D1.1 OSHA 10
Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical specifications. Skilled in multiple welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, with knowledge of AWS standards. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and structural steel assembly. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements. Ability to operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and gas metal arc welding tools safely. Mechanical knowledge related to blueprint reading, fabrication shop practices, ASME codes & standards, and safety protocols adherence.
