Job Summary We are seeking entry-level as well as highly skilled and detail-oriented Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming raw metal materials into precise, high-quality fabricated components used for steel girder components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication processes, blueprint interpretation, and welding techniques. The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency in measuring instruments, shop math, and safety protocols, ensuring all projects meet industry standards and client specifications. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and ASME codes to accurately fabricate metal components. Measure, mark, cut, and shape sheet metal and other metal materials using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Perform welding operations including MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding), TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS standards. Assemble fabricated parts utilizing appropriate fasteners and techniques to ensure structural integrity. Operate cranes and other lifting equipment safely to handle heavy materials during fabrication processes. Maintain precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and shop procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members on complex fabrication projects involving ductwork, mechanical assembly, or custom metal structures. Conduct quality checks on finished products to verify compliance with specifications and industry standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for efficiency and quality. Qualifications Proven experience in metal fabrication within a manufacturing or construction environment. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints. Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and knowledge of AWS standards. Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations. Experience working on construction sites or industrial settings is highly desirable. Skilled in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and lifting devices safely. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop processes and metal materials. Understanding of ASME codes & standards relevant to fabrication work. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Commitment to safety protocol adherence and quality workmanship.
