Job Description
We are an established automotive performance company with approximately 40 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket industry . As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our manufacturing operations into the Idaho Falls area and are looking for talented people to become part of our new local team. This is an opportunity to join an established company at the beginning of an exciting new chapter. As our Idaho operations grow, we expect opportunities for motivated employees to take on additional responsibilities and advance quickly within the organization. Position Overview We are seeking a Metal Fabricator / Automotive Exhaust Fabricator to assist with the development and production of high-performance automotive exhaust systems. This position will involve both production fabrication and new product development. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in producing high-quality parts, and has an interest in fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or performance vehicles. Experience in automotive exhaust fabrication is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with strong general metal fabrication or welding experience who are interested in learning the automotive performance industry. Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble performance automotive exhaust systems and components
- Cut, fit, bend, grind, weld, and finish stainless steel and other metals
- MIG and/or TIG weld tubing, brackets, flanges, mufflers, and related components
- Fit and assemble exhaust components using production fixtures and jigs
- Read measurements, drawings, templates, and fabrication specifications
- Assist with the development and prototyping of new exhaust systems
- Build prototype components and make modifications during product development
- Work with the product development team to improve fitment, manufacturability, and production efficiency
- Inspect completed components for weld quality, appearance, dimensions, and proper fitment
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, belt sanders, drill presses, tube fabrication equipment, and related shop tools
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
- Follow established manufacturing and quality-control procedures
- Assist with improving production processes as the Idaho Falls manufacturing operation expands Qualifications Preferred experience includes:
- Metal fabrication or welding experience
- MIG and/or TIG welding
- Stainless steel fabrication
- Tube cutting and fitting
- Automotive exhaust fabrication
- Automotive or motorsports fabrication
- Ability to accurately use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools
- Experience working from drawings, samples, fixtures, or prototypes
- General knowledge of shop and fabrication equipment Automotive exhaust experience is a plus but is not required for a candidate with strong fabrication skills and a willingness to learn. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who:
