Stainless Steel Finishing Technician — Fabrication Trainee J&K Commercial Construction - Manufacturing Division A day on our shop floor You clock in, gear up, and get hands-on with stainless. Your morning might start at the finishing bench, using grinders and Scotch-Brite wheels to deburr freshly cut parts. After break, you could be assisting with the assembly of stainless cabinets, display cases, or commercial kitchen equipment. In the afternoon, you'll help package and crate finished products, move materials with pallet jacks or a forklift, and keep the work area clean and safe. As your skills grow, you'll rotate through more fabrication processes and learn new equipment. What you'll handle Deburr and finish sheet metal components Operate grinders, Scotch-Brite wheels, soft spirals, deburring tools, and related finishing equipment Prep and fit parts for assembly Assist fabrication crews and help assemble stainless products Package, crate, and stage completed orders Load/unload trucks safely Move materials using pallet jacks and forklifts Read and follow basic fabrication drawings Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment Cross-train in additional fabrication processes as you advance What makes you a great fit Reliability and punctuality matter here—your team counts on you. Familiarity with grinders, cutoff wheels, drills, impacts, and other power tools Basic mechanical aptitude Can read a tape measure and perform basic math Able to interpret simple fabrication drawings Clear communication and a positive attitude Able to lift at least 50 lbs. Eager to learn and take on new responsibilities Willing to obtain forklift, industrial safety, and CPR certifications after hire Forklift experience is a plus, but we'll train the right person.
