Job Description

Metal Forming Technician needed to hand form steel, titanium, and aluminum parts using engineering drawings, hand tools, presses, templates, and precision measuring equipment. Job Requirements High school diploma or GED required 1-6+ years of hand forming, sheet metal fabrication, metal forming, or similar manufacturing experience preferred Experience working with steel, titanium, and aluminum materials preferred Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions Ability to use precision measuring equipment Familiarity with hand tools and specialty manufacturing tools Basic math skills Ability to follow directions and work across shifts Ability to wear required PPE and follow safety procedures Preferred Skills Experience identifying material types, tempers, and gauges Experience using form tooling, templates, and check fixtures Experience operating arbor presses, hydro presses, shrinker/stretchers, and forklifts Experience using calipers, micrometers, straight edges, radius gauges, and protractors Knowledge of flatness, straightness, and angle requirements Experience following allowed working times and forming processes Ability to recognize corrosion and heat-treat burns on materials Experience with surface preparation and part handling procedures ERP system experience for job tracking Job Responsibilities Hand form metal parts made from steel, titanium, and aluminum according to engineering drawing instructions Form and shape metal parts according to work instructions and specifications Clock into and track jobs in the ERP system Identify and work with different material types, tempers, and gauges Select and use proper tooling to manipulate and form materials Use form tooling, templates, and check fixtures to verify part shapes and dimensions Operate arbor presses, hydro presses, shrinker/stretchers, forklifts, hammers, and hand tools Read and use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, straight edges, radius gauges, and protractors Apply flatness, straightness, and angle requirements Follow allowed working times and forming processes Recognize corrosion and heat-treat burns on materials Perform surface preparation and part handling procedures Inspect completed parts and maintain quality of own work Keep work area clean and organized Participate in safety training and team training sessions
