Job Summary The Grinding / Weld Preparation Worker will support the equipment installation and commissioning phase at the AKFA aluminum manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This role focuses on essential prep work, surface finishing, and supporting welders and installation specialists through material preparation, grinding, and basic tool operation. Production Ave, 1309, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101, US Responsibilities Perform basic grinding and preparation of welded components. Clean weld areas before and after welding. Remove weld slag, burrs, sharp edges and surface imperfections. Prepare surfaces and edges for subsequent welding operations. Operate angle grinders, hand grinders, abrasive tools and basic power tools. Assist welders with material preparation, positioning and general fabrication tasks. Maintain clean and safe work areas. Follow instructions from welders, supervisors and installation specialists. Comply with all site HSE and PPE requirements. Experience Previous experience in industrial fabrication, welding support, metal/plastic fabrication or construction at least 3 years. Experience operating hand grinders and basic power tools. Ability to perform physically demanding manual work safely. Ability to follow technical instructions and work as part of an installation team.
