Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lead Conveyor Belt Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising a crew of 2-3 Belt Technicians while performing conveyor belt maintenance, repairs, and installations in a variety of industrial environments. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a crew of 2-3 Belt Technicians while maintaining strict safety standards Diagnose and troubleshoot conveyor belt issues including mistracking, premature wear, and splicing failures Plan and execute belt changeouts, including large and complex conveyor systems Operate heavy equipment such as telehandlers, manlifts, forklifts, and cranes Demonstrate proficiency in crane hand signals and safe lifting practices Perform mechanical work including replacement of gearboxes, pulleys, bearings, idlers, and belt scrapers Conduct vulcanized and mechanical belt splicing (square, biased, finger, and step splices) Provide mentoring and hands-on training to junior belt technicians Communicate job status, safety concerns, and progress updates with customers and AES management Travel to customer job sites as required (hotels and per diem provided) Safely lift and handle materials weighing 50-100+ lbs Required Experience 2+ years of experience vulcanizing heavy-duty conveyor belts 2+ years of experience performing mechanical splicing 2+ years of experience replacing conveyor components including gearboxes, pulleys, bearings, idlers, and belt scrapers 1+ year of experience with pulley lagging (cold bond and weld-on) Strong working knowledge of conveyor belt systems and components Preferred Qualifications Experience with lightweight belt splicing Welding experience CDL-A license Requirements Strong leadership and crew management skills, especially in high-pressure environments Excellent communication skills with customers, crew members, and management Willingness to travel and work flexible hours Ability to work in all weather conditions Safety-focused mindset with high attention to detail Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT physical Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan with company matching Per diem and travel accommodations covered by AES Opportunities for long-term career growth and advancement
