Job Summary We are seeking skilled Welding Specialists to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding operations on various metal materials, ensuring all work meets strict safety and quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of complex projects, from structural steel to sheet metal fabrication, utilizing a range of welding techniques and mechanical skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects in a fast-paced environment where safety, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are paramount. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with ASME and AWS standards. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to prepare materials for welding and fabrication tasks. Measure and mark metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds. Fabricate metal components such as pipe sections. Adhere strictly to safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of gases and power tools, and maintaining a clean work environment. Inspect completed welds for quality assurance by checking dimensions with calipers and micrometers, ensuring compliance with project specifications. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot fabrication issues and optimize welding processes for efficiency and quality. Experience Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of metal materials and welding techniques. Hands-on experience with crane operation or working around heavy machinery is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with interpreting mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and technical specifications related to metal fabrication projects. Demonstrated ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise measurements. Knowledge of safety protocols specific to welding environments including handling gases, power tools, plasma cutters, and other equipment. Prior experience in sheet metal fabrication or pipe threading is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety compliance.
