Job Description

Overview:
Steel Dynamics, Inc. is the third-largest carbon steel producer in the U.S. and is one of the top steel recyclers. SDI continues to push to be the industry leader and gold standard for corporate governance. The Long Products Division, Steel Ventures, Inc. has an immediate opening for production workers at the galvanizing plant in Wurtland, Kentucky which employs over 100 people. This plant coats a wide variety of products from Steel Ventures' affiliated company, Steel of West Virginia, and others including truck trailer cross members, I-beams, solar posts as well as complex fabricated assemblies and parts for other customers.
Responsibilities:
4 on/4 off
ROTATING
schedule. Other duties as assigned. Overtime is sometimes required and is made available depending on the demands of production.
Qualifications:
Possess high school diploma. Must be drug-free. Physical labor including heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 60 lbs. frequently. Standing, walking, and balancing constantly for 8-12 hours per day. Crouching and bending frequently for 8-12 hours per day. Reaching and working at or above shoulder level frequently tying wire for 8-12 hours per day. Operation of forklift, powered and non-powered hand tools (grinder and hammer and chisel). Exposure to the weather elements for 8-12 hours per day including temperature extremes in winter and summer. Ability to maintain personal safety in a busy industrial environment. Use of personal protective equipment ("PPE") per assigned job task including steel toed boots with internal or external metatarsal protection, safety glasses, hard hat, cut resistant sleeves/gloves, long pants/sleeves, and cloth face masks whenever a worker is within 6' of another person on the job site.
