As a Baton Rouge, LA Welder / Installer , you will serve in a vital role fabricating, fitting, and assembling the structural components of various mechanical systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Install new equipment by reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Construct structural components from raw materials.
  • Use welding equipment to specifications.
  • Test the functionality of parts and systems.
  • Conduct quality checks of completed work to ensure that the customer's needs are met.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting on bodies and equipment.
  • Replace damaged or defective structural components as needed.
  • Keep a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Promote a positive team-oriented attitude with other employees and across the workplace.
Qualifications include:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Basic hydraulic knowledge.
  • Ability to weld (MIG) and fabricate top quality products.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work with parts and installation drawings and manuals.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the required hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to quality and commitment to quality.
  • Collaborate with other members of the production team to ensure that projects are completed on time / on budget.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Dedicated, driven approach and commitment to getting it right with a never-ending desire to learn, improve, and contribute.
  • Current welding and state certifications and/or preparedness to obtain additional certifications and training as needed (may require company-paid travel).
Minimum Requirements / Pre-Employment Requirements Must possess a valid, current driver's license . Must successfully pass a background check . Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical/drug screening , as required for the position. Must meet all job-related qualifications and physical requirements of the position. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required pre-employment screenings. Work Tools need to be provided by employee. A full list is available at interview. At Dealers Truck Equipment Co., LLC., we offer a fair and competitive compensation package commensurate with education/experience. Benefits offered include health insurance, vision and dental, paid holidays, and paid time off. This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM
