Job Description
Best-known for the vessel fleets it produces for the U.S. Armed Forces and allies around the globe, Metal Shark has expanded its focus to include state, local, and commercial operators across a wide range of markets. Today, the Louisiana-based company produces a wider range of specialty vessels than perhaps any comparable yard. Key markets served include fire rescue, law enforcement, military, passenger vessels, pilot boats, various workboat operators and other specialty operators.

Full Time, 40-48 hours per week, Potential for overtime on Weekdays and Weekends 6:00 AM- 5:00 PM Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM

PM Friday Education or Required Experience :
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry welding aluminum
- Must be able to read blueprints
- Must be able to tack, distribute heat evenly with a clean bead
- Must be able to pass the
MSB Pre-Employment Mock Weld Test Required Skills :
- Must be able to pass 6G in stainless steel and aluminum pipe
- Must be able to pass 4G plate test on 3mm and 4mm plate bend test
- Possess strong attention to detail in order to aid Metal Shark's strong quality assurance program
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Must be able to weld aluminum and stainless steel proficiently
- Ability to fix a defected weld
- Must be able to weld in any position
- Ability to operate power equipment safely and comply with all safety standards
- Demonstrates strong work ethic, good communication skills, and works well with others
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.Job Type:
