Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Structural Welder with at least 6 months of Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) 3G/4G structural welding experience. The candidate will weld together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 6 months of
FCAW 3G/4G
structural welding experience Pass a hands-on
FCAW 3G/4G
structural welding test with the 3G position welded with downhill progression and 4G welded entirely in the overhead position SKILLS Proficiency in structural welding techniques Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to welding
RESPONSIBILITIES
Obtain the appropriate tools needed for a particular job and subsequently sets up their equipment Bind together structural metal components that have been pre-assembled and tacked into place Perform good, cosmetic sound welds Examine own work and may chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter with the appropriate tools. (i.e., grinder, chipping hammer, etc.) Leave little or no rework when job is complete (i.e., cold rolls, pin holes, wraps, burn through, etc.) Troubleshoot equipment May gouge to remove a member, make a seam sound, remove weld reinforcement, etc.
