Key Responsibilities Welding & Fabrication:
Perform heavy-duty stick (SMAW) welding on structural steel, chutes, hoppers, and heavy equipment buckets.
Conveyor Mastery:
Install, tension, track, and splice heavy-duty rubber conveyor belts. Replace rollers, idlers, pulleys, and bearings.
Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct daily inspections of "high-wear" areas. Grease moving parts and identify stress fractures in steel structures before they lead to failure.
Mechanical Repair:
Troubleshoot and repair gearboxes, drive motors, and hydraulic components related to the sorting lines.
Hardfacing:
Apply wear-resistant welding layers (hardfacing) to equipment surfaces exposed to extreme abrasion.
Safety Compliance:
Maintain a strict "Lock-Out/Tag-Out" (LOTO) discipline and ensure all guards are replaced after repairs.
Required Skills & Qualifications Experience:
3+ years in industrial welding or millwright work, preferably in mining, aggregate, or scrap recycling.
Welding Proficiency:
Must be able to weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
Physical Stamina:
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold), climb ladders, and lift up to 75 lbs.
Mechanical Aptitude:
Deep understanding of how belt tracking and mechanical drives function. Pay:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour
