Job Description
At Independent Metalworks we fabricate and install all types of commercial ornamental metal projects, as well as many historic metal restoration projects in the DMV area. A good candidate for this position would demonstrate a proficiency in ornamental/architectural metalwork, as well as light miscellaneous steel, and have a high attention to detail. Must be self motivated. Measuring, layout, and blueprint comprehension required. Stainless steel, aluminum, and bronze/brass experience a plus. Candidates should have knowledge and experience working safely with all type of shop equipment i.e. shear, press brake, punch, iron worker, bandsaws Performs skilled fabrication tasks. Utilizing jigs, fixtures, and shop equipment to increase productivity. Experience fabricating/installing ornamental metal is required. We are not looking for stand alone production welders.
