Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and punctual Metal Shop Fabricator to support our warehouse projects. These projects include fabricating items such as elevator doors, frames, brackets, cab components, rails/supports, and other custom metal components. Work hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications. Measure, mark, cut, drill, bend, and shape sheet metal, steel, aluminum, and other metals. Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, shears, presses, brakes, grinders, and drills. Perform welding, grinding, and fitting as required. Assemble fabricated components and ensure proper fit and alignment. Inspect finished work for accuracy, dimensions, quality, and workmanship. Follow safety procedures, production schedules, and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work with other shop personnel as needed
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Willingness to learn and work as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely. Reliable transportation to the warehouse in Capitol Heights, MD. Metal fabrication or shop experience is helpful, but not required.
