Position:

Perform daily production task in the manufacturing and welding/fabrication department. Adhere to a plan and established work schedule, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

Essential Functions:

• Report to manager.
• Complete all Work Orders and assigned jobs. Submit completed Work Orders to the manager.
• Complete jobs within time frames given and maintain efficient work flow while upholding the highest quality.
• Report inventory and material needs to manager. Assist with preventative maintenance for equipment.
• Report Order Lists to manager.
• Assist with on-site fabrication and installation.
• Comply all OSHA and safety guidelines.

Attend monthly safety meetings. Inspect work progress, equipment and tools to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met. Ensure safety procedures are adhered. Operate equipment properly. Expected to function as a working leader and ability to help in other departments when needed. Assist on the floor as needed and the ability to fill in at any position as needed or assigned. Ensure the highest quality is upheld and review projects for completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards.

• The Welder position is responsible for welding various materials associated with the company's products including, but not limited to grooming equipment, handrails, and general fabrication.
• Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete welding in assigned area.
• Fabricate components from raw stock, as needed.
• Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required.
• Meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Initiate process improvements.
• Lead/perform lean events.
• Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etc.) to resolve issues.
• Solve complex problems with minimal assistance.
• Assist with all other assigned tasks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production. Knowledge of all types of metals and relevant welding/fabricating and cutting techniques using correct machinery, equipment and tools including CNC plasma. Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Basic computer and software knowledge; including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), CNC software, CAD helpful. Ability to lead employees in order to motivate; foster open, honest and candid communication; and determine strengths and weaknesses. Excellent communication skills - reading/writing/verbal English for efficiency in communicating to employees work assignments, promote safe work practices, communicate with upper management. Use good judgment and decision-making skills to answer questions, address complaints and resolve problems. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Training and Experience High School graduate or GED required. Some college or trade school helpful. Previous work-related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred. Work Context Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in shop conditions that include heat and humidity. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. (Occasionally lift 80 lbs., frequently lift 50 lbs.) Wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves and hearing protection. Noise level is generally loud. Excellent stamina is required. From $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
