Position Summary:
The Metal Fabricator will construct various jigs/fixtures related to the manufacturing process with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
The Metal Fabricator works closely with manufacturing engineering team to research and develop creative and effective solutions for manufacturing and product launch projects The Metal Fabricator , along with manufacturing engineering team, develops methods to improve department operation and overall operation of the manufacturing process Weld & fabricate metal reinforcements for various production molds Weld & assemble a variety of jigs, fixtures used in manufacturing Order and maintain department supplies
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
Knowledge of manufacturing process Trade school/college education - welding Proficient in MIG welding Ability to research and problem solve a variety of production issues Familiar with metal working tools including : horizontal band saw, drill press, MIG welder, iron worker acetylene torch, pipe bender, lathe, vertical mill, belt, grinder Familiar with hi-lo, hoists, and man lift Experience with hand tools including : drill, driver, tap and dies, files, grinder, sander, etc. Knowledge of basic shop math Experience With the Following is a
Plus:
Hydraulic and pneumatic experience a plus Excellent team and communication skills Knowledge of basic woodworking machines: table saw, band saw, radial arm saw 1-3 years experience read ing blueprints Boat assembly experience is a plus TIG, pulse, and flux core is a plus
