Position Summary:

The Metal Fabricator will construct various jigs/fixtures related to the manufacturing process with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

The Metal Fabricator works closely with manufacturing engineering team to research and develop creative and effective solutions for manufacturing and product launch projects The Metal Fabricator, along with manufacturing engineering team, develops methods to improve department operation and overall operation of the manufacturing process Weld & fabricate metal reinforcements for various production molds Weld & assemble a variety of jigs, fixtures used in manufacturing Order and maintain department supplies

Required Education and Experience:

Knowledge of manufacturing process Trade school/college education - welding Proficient in MIG welding Ability to research and problem solve a variety of production issues Familiar with metal working tools including: horizontal band saw, drill press, MIG welder, iron worker acetylene torch, pipe bender, lathe, vertical mill, belt, grinder Familiar with hi-lo, hoists, and man lift Experience with hand tools including: drill, driver, tap and dies, files, grinder, sander, etc. Knowledge of basic shop math Experience With the Following is a

Plus:

Hydraulic and pneumatic experience a plus Excellent team and communication skills Knowledge of basic woodworking machines: table saw, band saw, radial arm saw 1-3 years experience reading blueprints Boat assembly experience is a plus TIG, pulse, and flux core is a plus
