Job Title:
Fabricator/Welder Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Fabricator/Welder with strong fabrication and blueprint-reading abilities. This role involves a diverse mix of welding and metal fabrication work focused primarily on custom-built equipment for tanks, water testing systems, and other specialty industrial products. Responsibilities Perform approximately 65% MIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel with material thickness ranging from 16-gauge to 10-gauge. Execute approximately 35% TIG welding on stainless steel with material thickness ranging from 16-gauge to 10-gauge. Perform a variety of welds including fillet welds, pipe welding, structural welds, and custom weld applications. Work from blueprints and drawings, troubleshooting and adapting when design or blueprint errors are identified. Fabricate custom components and assemblies from raw materials. Operate fabrication equipment including press brake, shear, saw, and rollers. Cut, bend, roll, stretch, and form materials to specification. Lay out and develop flat patterns for fabrication projects, creating complex transitions and formed parts as required. Essential Skills MIG welding experience with carbon steel and stainless steel. TIG welding experience on stainless steel. Strong blueprint reading skills. Proficiency in operating fabrication equipment such as press brake, shear, saw, and rollers. Ability to perform layout work and develop flat patterns. Experience with custom fabrication rather than repetitive production welding. Ability to work independently and solve fabrication challenges. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with aluminum welding using both MIG and TIG processes is preferred. Think on your feet type of welder, comfortable and eager to work in a custom environment. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
