This role is a strong fit for someone who is comfortable measuring, laying out, cutting, drilling, grinding, forming, fitting, and inspecting metal parts. AES manufactures safety products that help protect workers, so dimensional accuracy and workmanship matter. What You Will Do Read and understand engineering drawings, part lists, work orders, travelers, and fabrication specifications. Lay out work and use jigs or fixtures to fabricate parts accurately. Cut, drill, shear, notch, grind, bend, roll, shape, and finish metal parts using approved equipment and tools. Operate equipment such as band saws, drill presses, shears, grinders, brakes, pipe/tube benders, and other fabrication equipment after training. Select and verify correct material, thickness, and part quantities before beginning work. Measure and inspect parts, identify nonconformance, and correct or rework parts when appropriate. Support downstream welding, assembly, laser, and forming operations by producing accurate parts on time. Maintain tools, fixtures, and work areas in a safe and organized condition. Work independently while communicating problems before they create scrap or delays. What We Are Looking For Ability to read and interpret fabrication prints and drawings. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32 inch and use basic inspection tools. Good basic math and strong mechanical aptitude. Working knowledge of fabrication hand tools and common shop equipment. Reliability, attention to detail, and a desire to keep developing skills. Ability to organize work and verify material and part quantities. Experience That Helps Two or more years of metal fabrication experience preferred, or equivalent demonstrated ability. Press brake, tube bending, saw, shear, CNC, fixture, or layout experience. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Welding experience is useful but not required for every fabrication assignment. What AES Offers Health, dental, and vision insurance.
