Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder specializing in structural and pipe welding to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Your expertise will ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and precision as you work on construction projects, manufacturing assemblies, and custom metal fabrications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction and fabrication initiatives while honing your welding skills in a fast-paced environment. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements. Perform welding operations using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) to join metal materials such as sheet metal, pipes, and structural steel. Use measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to ensure precise cuts and welds that meet project specifications. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment for cutting, shaping, and preparing metal components prior to welding. Fabricate metal structures by cutting, bending, assembling, and welding components in accordance with safety protocols and AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering strictly to safety procedures on construction sites or within fabrication shops. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, ensuring all welds meet quality standards and project deadlines. Qualifications Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of structural steel and pipe fabrication. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, with certification preferred. Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and technical specifications accurately. Experience operating measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes, shop math skills, and familiarity with safety protocols in manufacturing or construction environments. Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, plasma cutting equipment, machining tools, forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings. Knowledge of AWS standards for welding quality assurance; commitment to maintaining high safety standards at all times.
