Job Description

Johnson Metal Works is looking to hire skilled Structural Steel Technicians to join our growing Team. Applicants should have a solid understanding of Structural Steel Construction and can expect to be involved primarily in Structural Field Erection. Applicant should have experience with Erection Standards for temporary supports and wood framing marriage. Rigging experience is a plus. Project scopes will include but are not limited to, Moment and Mullion Framing, Anchoring and Footings, Staircase Stringers, and High-End Residential construction. Applicants should have experience with FCAW and SMAW processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
AWS Welding Certification 3G, 4G, stick or dual-shield preferred. Performing an in-house welding test will be a part of the interviewing process. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a metal shop setting. Required ability to read, understand, and interpret Structural Plan sets and Shop Drawings. Fitting and Fabrication experience, with knowledge of executing to D1.1 Code Standards. Experience with CJP requirements and procedures. General Shop tool and equipment experience, including forklift/telehandler operations. Strong safety culture attitude. Experience and knowledge of Work-At-Height/OSHA Standards. Must be able to lift 50lbs and perform in a demanding physical environment. Demonstrate a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and take directions. Commitment to high quality work produced and adherence to AISC, AWS and JMW standards. Aptitude for site safety, clear communication, cleanliness, punctuality, and professionalism. Must have valid driver's license.

Shift:
