Job Description

Header Seeking a skilled and motivated Metal / Sign Fabricator to join our growing fabrication team. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys building custom projects, and can turn drawings and concepts into professionally finished signage. The ideal candidate will have experience working with aluminum, steel, acrylic, and other sign-related materials , along with strong welding, fabrication, and mechanical skills. Responsibilities will include fabricating custom signs, sign cabinets, channel letters, raceways, structural frames, architectural signage, and other specialty sign components. This position requires the ability to read and interpret shop drawings, accurately measure and lay out materials, cut and form metal, weld components, assemble sign structures, and maintain high standards for fit and finish. We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and creative . Sign-industry experience is preferred, but we will consider an experienced metal fabricator or welder who has the skills and willingness to learn professional sign fabrication. Safety, quality, and craftsmanship are essential. The right candidate will work closely with our design and production team to build custom signage that meets our clients' specifications and Creativeminds Design's quality standards. Duties Read and interpret shop drawings, fabrication drawings, measurements, and sign design specifications to accurately fabricate custom signage. Fabricate aluminum and steel components including sign cabinets, channel letters, raceways, frames, brackets, mounting systems, architectural signs, and custom sign structures . Measure, cut, bend, form, drill, grind, weld, and assemble aluminum and steel components to required specifications. Perform MIG and TIG welding , primarily on aluminum and steel, producing clean, structurally sound welds with a professional finished appearance. Operate fabrication equipment including welders, grinders, drills, saws, shears, brakes, plasma cutters, and other hand and power tools . Accurately use tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and other measuring tools to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances. Fabricate and assemble aluminum sign cabinets, raceways, backer panels, mounting frames, and other custom components . Work with various sign materials including aluminum sheet, aluminum angle, square tubing, steel, ACM, acrylic, polycarbonate, and PVC . Grind, sand, clean, and prepare fabricated components for painting and final assembly. Assist with the installation and assembly of LED modules, power supplies, sign faces, trim, mounting hardware, and electrical sign components when needed. Identify fabrication problems and develop practical solutions while maintaining the intent of the approved design. Inspect completed work for proper dimensions, fit, finish, strength, and overall quality before it moves to the next stage of production. Assist with sign installation and field fabrication when required. Properly handle and move large sign components using appropriate lifting equipment and safe material-handling practices. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe fabrication area. Follow company safety procedures and proper PPE requirements at all times. Work closely with designers, project managers, installers, and other fabrication team members to keep projects on schedule. Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in sign fabrication, metal fabrication, welding, or a related trade preferred. Strong MIG welding skills ; TIG welding experience is highly desirable, particularly with aluminum. Experience fabricating with aluminum and steel tubing, angle, sheet, and plate . Ability to read and understand fabrication/shop drawings and translate drawings into finished products. Strong understanding of measurements, fractions, basic shop math, angles, layouts, and material dimensions. Comfortable operating grinders, drills, saws, welders, plasma cutters, and general metal-fabrication equipment. Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, square, tack, weld, grind, and finish fabricated assemblies. Experience with sheet-metal bending and forming is preferred. Sign-industry experience, including fabrication of channel letters, illuminated cabinets, raceways, architectural signs, and custom signage , is a major plus. Basic understanding of LED sign components and electrical sign construction is beneficial but not required. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities. Creative fabrication mindset with the ability to determine how to build custom, one-of-a-kind projects from drawings and concepts. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing clean, professional-quality work. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to safely lift and handle fabrication materials and finished sign components. Willingness to learn new fabrication techniques, materials, equipment, and sign-construction methods. What We're Really Looking For We are not looking for someone who simply knows how to weld. We are looking for a fabricator and problem solver —someone who can look at a drawing, understand what needs to be built, determine the best way to fabricate it, and produce a finished product they are proud to put their name on. Sign / metal fabrication experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider a talented metal fabricator or welder with strong mechanical abilities, creativity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn the sign industry. Join us in delivering high-quality metal fabrication solutions that meet rigorous industry standards! Your skills will be vital in creating durable structures while ensuring safety remains our top priority. We're excited to see how your expertise can contribute to our innovative projects!
