Position overview:
The ironworker must have the ability to install pre-engineered metal building perform connecting work, and perform work at above ground elevations. Familiarity with basic hand signals and basic rigging knowledge, Safety knowledge while working at heights is required. Experience with pre-engineered buildings, pole barns, metal studs, and welding a plus.
Position Expectations and Duties:
Promotes safe workplace by participating in safety training, identifying job hazards, wearing correct PPE, and observing for oneself and others. Shows up on time and ready to complete work Follows directions of manager/ lead/ superintendent and clarifies responsibilities if needed Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, other contractors, and clients Takes care of company owned or rented equipment returning in like manor Adaptable in methods used to complete task Willing to go the extra mile for the team Motivated to learn new skills and trades Communicate effectively both written and verbal Ability to use assortment of hand tools. Strong math skills in basic math, geometry, and algebra. Skill to operate a variety of machinery. Gather correct tools needed to perform the tasks being completed. Ability to work in confined spaces Work In various weather conditions Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day Climb ladders Bending, twisting, lifting up to 50lbs Prolonged standing, walking Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner. Use power tools in safe and efficient manner.
