This role is ideal for someone with experience in trailer fabrication, welding, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance. What You'll Do Repair and maintain trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation Perform welding and fabrication work on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel trailers Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot trailer electrical systems Diagnose defects and perform repairs based on driver reports, inspections, or preventative maintenance findings Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all makes and models of trailers Follow all shop safety standards and company policies while handling tools, equipment, and chemicals Prepare and organize materials for welding, including cleaning, cutting, and positioning components Use computer systems to log work orders, maintain service records, and process repair documentation Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure repairs are completed efficiently Work collaboratively with the shop team to keep Magnum's equipment safe, compliant, and road-ready Support additional projects and duties as assigned Benefits Magnum offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: Health Insurance with HSA and FSA Options Company Paid Life Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Ideal candidates have:

Mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, fabrication equipment, and repair processes Technical knowledge of electronic systems, computer hardware, and diagnostic software used to identify vehicle and trailer issues Strong understanding of DOT regulations, safety standards, and shop procedures Familiarity with transportation operations and freight movement methods Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively with shop employees and supervisors to resolve issues such as missing parts, repair delays, or scheduling concerns Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented shop environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship and safety Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required Diesel Engine Specialist certification or related technical degree preferred, but not required Minimum 2 years of trailer fabrication experience required Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position is performed in a shop and fabrication environment where employees work around heavy-duty equipment, welding tools, trailers, and machinery. The role includes exposure to dust, noise, vibration, chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures, requiring strong attention to safety at all times. Work areas may include slippery floors, hoses, and active equipment, so awareness and caution are essential. Employees must be able to stand or sit for extended periods and safely lift or carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
