We're looking for an experienced Steel Shop Fabricator who takes pride in producing high quality work and wants to help build a new fabrication shop from day one. This is a hands on position for someone who enjoys fabricating structural steel and miscellaneous metals, solving shop challenges, and working closely with company leadership. What You'll Do Read and interpret structural steel and miscellaneous metal shop drawings. Lay out, measure, cut, fit, drill, and assemble structural steel and miscellaneous metal components. Perform MIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding to produce high-quality fabricated products. Ensure all fabrication meets project specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes. Operate fabrication equipment, hand tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes safely. Inspect your work for accuracy, fit-up, and quality before fabrication is completed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work closely with project managers and shop personnel to meet production schedules. Assist with loading fabricated materials for delivery when needed. Help improve shop efficiency and fabrication processes as the company grows. Qualifications Required 10+ years of experience fabricating structural steel and miscellaneous metals. Strong blueprint and shop drawing reading skills. Excellent layout, measuring, cutting, and fit-up abilities. Experience with MIG, FCAW, and Stick (SMAW) welding. Ability to use fabrication equipment, power tools, and measuring instruments. Forklift operating experience. Working knowledge of OSHA safety practices and applicable building codes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic. Preferred AWS welding certification. Experience fabricating stairs, railings, platforms, ladders, and miscellaneous metals. Experience operating overhead cranes. Ability to solve fabrication problems independently. Willingness to mentor less experienced shop employees.
