non-exempt Position Summary= Responsible for providing patient out of pocket estimates and surgical estimates to elective surgery candidates in advance of procedure. Job Duties Focus on calculating costst and preparing estimates for surgeries. Utilize payer websites to determine current patient out of pocket amounts due and utilize various tools to estimate procedure cost and reimbursesment. Communicate to patient out of pocket estimates in advance of surgery. Record any communications in the system. Escalate any issues and concerns. Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employees, physicians, patients, visitors and guests. Uses sound customer relation practices and maintains high levels of visibility and accessibility Understand various payer reimbursement methodologies Document results and alert supervisors or managers of trends. Complete productivity reports and submit to supervisors within the established timeframe. Support the department's customer service and performance improvement goals. Collaborate with other staff to enhance patient care and service. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Excellent computer skills. Ability to read, understand and follow detailed procedures. Analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities necessary. Proven skills of critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle a high volume workload efficiently essential. Strong organizational skills; ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to provide excellent customer service internally and externally. Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure Requirements H.S. Diploma. 4+ years' experience in a hospital, ASC or physician office setting Previous related operational experience
