JOB DETAIL

Class A Mechanic:

Must have 5+ years municipal / commercial up fitting experience.

Basic duties:

Performs work necessary to build, weld, assemble, customize, fabricate, install, mechanical and electrical components of commercial dump bodies, snowplows, spreaders and tarp systems.

Expectations:

Safe usage of hand and power tools Uses work orders, drawings to determine repairs or custom installation / fabrication procedures and sequence of operations. Perform installation (+ welding) and testing of cab shields, hoists, air-gates, tailgate, coal doors, swing doors, lighting, hydraulic systems, electronic tarp system. Maintain your personal tool inventory. Maintain job files, Pick-ticket and time-card for job costing. Communicate with others to fit and align heavy parts or expedite processing of repair parts. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (electrical, mechanical) A minimum of 5 years of relative experience acquired within the past 10 years to be considered for Class A mechanic and 10+ years to be considered for Shop Foreman. Must be able to accomplish full repairs, installations, modifications, with little to no assistance or supervision. Ability to read, understand and interpret, instructions, drawings and technical plans. Ability to adhere to garage PPE and company EHS guidelines. (Safety footwear, eye protection, noise protection and welding PPE required)
