Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking skilled and dedicated miscellaneous steel fabricators to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various steel components used in construction and structural projects. Your expertise in metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and welding techniques will ensure the delivery of high-quality steel structures that meet safety standards and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and fabrication skills to contribute to the success of our construction initiatives. Responsibilities Previous experience building pipe handrails, caged ladders, platforms and structural steel are very important. Interpret technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately cut, shape, and assemble steel components. Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to fabricate metal parts according to specifications. Measure and mark materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math principles. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and stick welding in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use cranes and other lifting equipment safely to move heavy steel sections during fabrication. Assemble fabricated steel components in the shop, ensuring proper fit-up and alignment before welding or fastening. Adhere strictly to safety protocols at all times, maintaining a clean work environment and following industry best practices for metal fabrication and welding safety. Skills Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting drawings for fabrication projects. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for precise fabrication work. Extensive knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding with adherence to AWS standards. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and other fabrication machinery efficiently. Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, assembly processes, and shop math calculations. Experience working with structural steel components on in fabrication shops is highly desirable. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding, machining, lifting operations, and general shop practices. $16.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
