Job Description
Built By Steele is seeking an experienced metal fabricator who takes pride in producing high-quality work and solving complex fabrication challenges. This position is for someone who enjoys building structural steel, architectural metalwork, and custom fabrication projects with precision and efficiency. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, dependable, and committed to craftsmanship. The ideal candidate can work independently, communicate effectively with the team, and consistently deliver clean, accurate work that reflects the Built By Steele standard. Responsibilities Read and interpret structural and architectural fabrication drawings. Lay out, fit, and fabricate steel assemblies accurately. Perform FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding as required. Operate shop equipment including CNC cutting, saws, drill presses, grinders, forklifts, and overhead cranes. Prepare material for fabrication through cutting, drilling, coping, and forming. Verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances throughout fabrication. Perform quality inspections before projects leave the shop. Work safely while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Assist with shop improvements, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with estimators, drafters, and field crews to ensure successful project execution. Qualifications 3+ years of professional metal fabrication experience. Strong blueprint reading and layout skills. Ability to fabricate independently with minimal supervision. High-quality welding skills in structural steel applications. Experience with custom fabrication and architectural metalwork preferred. Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment and material handling equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
