Our Company works with local, national and international Electric Utilities. Electric Utilities provide each of us with electricity into our homes, businesses and community. Utility workers are constantly working in potentially dangerous situations. Our Company helps keep workers safe by testing and distributing the equipment that workers use for safety. We also manufacture and distribute products internationally from our Tualatin, OR location. DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The HLT Technician is responsible for the intake, inspection, evaluation, repair, reconditioning, testing, and release of high line tools, cables, and related equipment. This role supports the full service lifecycle, ensuring all tools meet company quality standards and customer requirements. Technicians perform a combination of technical, mechanical, and customer-support functions, including tool diagnostics, repair coordination, refurbishment activities such as fiberglass sanding and painting, and functional testing. The role also includes customer interaction through walk-in service, will call, and field testing support. The position is structured across three levels (Technician
I, II, III
), reflecting increasing levels of skill, independence, technical expertise, and leadership. 1.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES 5.1.
Tool Intake & Work Order Management 5.1.1 Receive tools and equipment through walk-in, delivery, or will call processes and ensure proper documentation at intake. 5.1.2 Review work orders for completeness, accuracy, and correct service classification. 5.1.3 Enter and track all items through the service lifecycle using internal systems or logs. Maintain visibility of all incoming and active jobs to ensure proper prioritization and flow. 5.2. Inspection & Evaluation 5.2.1 Perform visual and functional inspections to determine overall tool condition and service requirements. 5.2.2 Identify defects, wear, and damage, and document findings clearly. 5.2.3 Evaluate whether tools require repair, reconditioning, or replacement based on condition and standards. 5.2.4 Communicate inspection results to support quoting and workflow decisions. 5.3. Repair & Reconditioning Execution 5.3.1 Perform repair and refurbishment activities to restore tools to operational condition. 5.3.2 Execute cleaning, sanding, surface preparation, and painting as part of the reconditioning process. 5.3.3 Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. 5.3.4 Maintain consistency in workmanship and appearance across all serviced tools. 5.4. Work Order Execution & Quoting Support 5.4.1 Review assigned work orders and execute tasks based on defined scope and priorities. 5.4.2 Support the evaluation process used to generate quotes by identifying required repairs, parts, and labor. 5.4.3 Communicate findings related to scope changes or additional service needs. 5.4.4 Ensure all work performed aligns with approved work orders and customer expectations. 5.5. Testing & Validation 5.5.1 Perform functional testing of tools to verify performance, safety, and compliance with applicable standards. 5.5.2 Follow established testing procedures and document results accurately. 5.5.3 Identify and address any performance issues prior to final release. 5.5.4 Ensure all tools meet required standards before being returned to customers. 5.6 Field Testing & Customer Support 5.6.1 Support or perform on-site testing and customer service activities as required. 5.6.2 Assist with tool evaluations in the field and provide technical support to customers. 5.6.3 Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer needs and timelines are met. 5.6.4 Represent the company professionally during all customer interactions. 5.7 Repair Coordination & RMA Processing 5.7.1 Perform repair and refurbishment activities to restore tools to operational condition. 5.7.2 Execute cleaning, sanding, and surface preparation to remove defects and prepare tools for finishing. 5.7.3 Perform or support painting and finishing processes to ensure proper coating, protection, and appearance standards are met. 5.7.4 Ensure all reconditioning work meets company quality expectations for both function and presentation. 5.8 Quality Finishing & Surface Preparation 5.8.1 Prepare tool surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and material removal processes to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality. 5.8.2 Apply coatings, paint, or protective finishes in accordance with company standards and product requirements. 5.8.3 Inspect finished surfaces for consistency, coverage, and defects, and perform touch-ups or rework as needed. 5.8.4 Maintain consistency in appearance and finish across all refurbished tools. 5.9 Inventory & Parts Coordination 5.9.1 Support inventory tracking and parts management required for repair and service activities. 5.9.2 Identify parts and materials needed to complete work orders. 5.9.3 Coordinate with inventory or purchasing to ensure availability of required components. 5.9.4 Maintain organization of tools, parts, and materials within the work area. 5.10 Final Inspection & Release 5.10.1 Follow all safety procedures and company policies. 5.10.2 Use appropriate PPE during testing and handling. 5.10.3 Operate equipment safely and responsibly. 5.10.4 Maintain a safe working environment. 5.11 Safety & Compliance 5.11.1 Always follow all company safety policies and procedures. 5.11.2 Use required personal protective equipment and ensure safe handling of tools and materials. 5.11.3 Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. 5.11.4 Support compliance with applicable standards and internal requirements. 5.12 Workflow & Continuous Improvement 5.12.1 Support overall workflow efficiency by maintaining steady progress on assigned work. 5.12.2 Identify bottlenecks, delays, or inefficiencies and communicate improvement opportunities. 5.12.3 Assist in maintaining turnaround time expectations and production flow. 5.12.4 Contribute to process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency. 6.

  • Works under direct supervision and focuses on foundational service and reconditioning tasks.
  • Supports tool intake and basic work order review.
  • Assists with visual inspections and identification of obvious defects.
  • Performs cleaning, sanding, and surface preparation of tools to support refurbishment activities.
  • Assists with preparation for painting and finishing processes.
  • Supports organization of tools, parts, and work areas while learning standard workflows and quality expectations. 6.2.II Technician II (Intermediate)
  • Works independently on standard work orders and performs full service and reconditioning activities.
  • Performs complete inspections and evaluates tool condition.
  • Executes repairs and reconditioning work including sanding, surface preparation, and painting of tools.
  • Applies coatings and finishes in accordance with company standards and ensures proper curing and finish quality.
  • Completes work orders independently from intake through completion while maintaining quality and efficiency. 6.2.III Technician III (Advanced / Lead Technician)
  • Operates as a subject matter expert and leader within the HLT department.
  • Performs advanced diagnostics and complex repairs.
  • Oversees and performs high-quality reconditioning work including advanced sanding techniques and professional-grade painting and finishing.
  • Ensures consistency in finish quality across all tools and validates completed work prior to release.
  • Provides guidance and training to Technicians I and II on proper sanding, preparation, and painting techniques.
  • Identifies improvements in reconditioning processes and finishing standards.
