Sign Fabricator Job Description The Sign Fabricator builds high-quality custom signage by transforming concepts and drawings into finished products using aluminum, sheet metal, steel, and other materials. This role requires a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys hands-on fabrication, problem solving, and creative design, and who can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities Fabricate custom signs using aluminum, sheet metal, steel, and other materials from initial concept to finished product. Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate dimensions and specifications. Operate metal fabrication equipment, including metal brakes, shears, iron workers, rollers, and related machinery. Use various hand tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, assemble, and finish sign components. Perform welding tasks, including TIG and MIG welding on aluminum and steel, to assemble and reinforce structures as needed. Apply mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues during the build process. Ensure all fabricated products meet quality standards with impeccable attention to detail and precise workmanship. Collaborate with team members on larger projects and assist others as needed to meet production goals. Use creative thinking and a design-focused mindset to develop and refine fabrication solutions for unique or custom projects. Work independently when required, managing time and tasks to complete projects on schedule. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with shop safety practices. Essential Skills Hands-on experience working with aluminum, sheet metal, steel, and other fabrication materials. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Ability to operate metal brakes, shears, iron workers, rollers, and related fabrication equipment. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use a wide range of hand tools safely and effectively. Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a fabrication or construction environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, custom-built products. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively to a team. Creative mindset for building and design, with the ability to translate concepts into practical solutions. Additional Skills & Qualifications TIG and MIG welding experience with aluminum and steel. Prior experience in HVAC or roofing, which has proven beneficial in similar roles. Experience operating brake press machines and shear/brake press equipment. Background in general fabrication, welding, and print or blueprint interpretation. Why Work Here?
