Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Ornamental Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming metal materials into beautiful, functional, and high-quality ornamental pieces that meet design specifications and safety standards. Your expertise in metal fabrication, welding, and blueprint interpretation will contribute to creating stunning architectural features, custom railings, decorative fixtures, and other intricate metalworks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects in a fast-paced environment where craftsmanship and precision are highly valued. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication of ornamental metal components. Measure materials and jobs precisely and using shop math to meet project specifications. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, press brake machines, power tools, and hand tools. Operate rigging equipment for lifting and positioning heavy metal parts safely on the fabrication shop floor or construction site. Fabricate custom ornamental pieces such as railings, gates, sculptures, and decorative fixtures with attention to detail and quality control. Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all phases of fabrication and installation processes, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of tools and materials. Requirements Proven experience in construction site environments or metal fabrication shops with a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication processes. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately. Hands-on experience with welding techniques such as MIG, TIG and plasma cutting. Ability to operate measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols as well as OSHA standards related to metalworking environments. Experience with rigging operations for lifting heavy or complex components safely on-site or in the shop. Ability to operate power tools such as grinders, drills, saws; use hand tools effectively; and handle various metal materials responsibly. Certification or experience in AWS standards for welding; familiarity with ASME codes is a plus. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent shop math skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
