Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a reliable and skilled Metal Fabrication Technician to join our team! This is a hands-on role focused on repairing and modifying metal rack systems using MIG welding and fabrication techniques. If you have experience in welding, fabrication, or general metal work, and enjoy working independently in a fast-paced environment, this is a great opportunity to grow your career. Key Responsibilities Repair, modify, and rebuild metal racks and steel structures Perform MIG welding (approximately 50% of the role) Inspect damaged racks and determine repair requirements Set up and operate welding equipment and fabrication tools Use clamps, bolts, and tack welds to assemble materials Complete final inspections and perform touch-ups Track materials, labor, and production in the system Operate forklift equipment to move materials (if certified or willing to learn) Follow all safety procedures, SOPs, and quality standards Travel to customer sites for on-site repairs (as needed) Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 1-3 years of welding or fabrication experience preferred MIG welding experience required Experience in metal fabrication, repair, or production environments Ability to read work instructions, blueprints, or job specs (preferred) Basic math skills Skills & Abilities Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and quality Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and heavy materials Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods Preferred (Not Required) Forklift experience or certification Experience with rack systems, steel fabrication, or structural repair Field service or travel-based repair experience
