Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Ironworker/Erector to join our structural steel team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, erecting, and securing steel frameworks and structural components for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure. You will work both on the ground and at heights, using specialized tools and techniques to ensure safe, accurate, and timely installation of steel members.
Hours:
A typical workweek is Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, actual working hours and days may vary due to project deadlines; May require weekend or evening work at times.
Compensation:
Starting at $24.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
Structural Steel Erection Accountability:
Safely and accurately assemble and install structural steel frameworks. Align, bolt, and position steel beams, columns, and girders. Use cranes, rigging, and signaling to position materials.
Safety Compliance and Hazard Mitigation Accountability:
Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all safety regulations. Use fall protection, PPE, and follow OSHA standards. Identify and report hazards on the job site. Participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks.
Rigging and Hoisting Operations Accountability:
Ensure safe and effective lifting and placement of heavy steel & precast components. Set up rigging equipment and inspect for defects. Communicate with crane operators using hand signals or radios. Balance loads and secure materials during lifts.
Welding, Bolting, and Connecting Accountability:
Secure steel components using appropriate joining methods. Assist in Performing field connections according to structural specifications. Familiarity with proper connections for strength and alignment. Willing to learn welding codes and procedures.
Layout and Precision Alignment Accountability:
Ensure structures are level, plumb, and aligned to design specifications. Use levels, transits, and laser tools for accurate placement. Adjust components to meet tolerances. Collaborate with engineers and foremen to resolve discrepancies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an ironworker or steel erector in structural or commercial construction. Ability to understand and read blueprints, layout drawings, and structural erection plans preferred. Strong knowledge of rigging and hoisting practices for steel erection. Experience working at heights and comfortable operating from man lifts, scaffolds, and steel frameworks. Ability to connect and bolt-up steel members using torque wrenches, spud wrenches, and impact tools. Familiarity with welding and cutting processes (SMAW, oxy-fuel cutting, etc.). Understanding of construction safety practices, including fall protection and lockout/tagout procedures. Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials, climbing, and working in all weather conditions. Willing and able to obtain relevant safety certifications, such as Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, Rigging & Hoisting through our in-house training programs. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel or work overtime, as project demands require.
