Job Description

Are you an experienced Pressure Vessel Fitter looking for a hands-on role in a dynamic metal fabrication environment? ACME is seeking skilled professionals to join our team! As a Fitter, you'll play a crucial role in fabricating and assembling high-quality metal components, including pressure vessels, tanks, structural elements, and piping weldments. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting and take pride in precision work, we want to hear from you! Under the direction of the Shop Foreman, the Pressure Vessel Fitter is responsible for cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components, including pressure vessels, tanks, structural elements, and piping weldments, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Fabricate metal components by handling, staging, cutting, prepping, fitting, boltingup, inspecting, testing, and loading, as necessary. Components include pressure vessels, tanks, structural elements, and pipe weldments. Ensure all work is performed safely and complies with company welding procedures, policies, applicable code requirements, and other regulatory standards. Interpret drawings, take measurements, and manage the storage and handling of instock materials and shop consumables. Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment as required. Oversee the work of assigned helpers, if applicable. Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all specified shop and yard equipment, as assigned by the Shop Foreman. Inspect incoming goods under the direction of the QA/QC Manager. Verify that the materials used are correct for specific job requirements. Ensure all welds are identified on the weld map and/or stamped. Select appropriate tools and consumables for assigned work. Halt work that does not comply with company policy, code requirements, or other regulatory standards. Request tools and consumables necessary for assigned tasks. Accept received products that match documentation. Open and close the gate and shop if assigned keys. Operate shop and yard equipment for which they have been trained and qualified. Perform other duties as required. Exhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors.
Knowledge and Skills:
Familiarity with welding equipment and hand, power tools like saws, drills, and hammers. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Work Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a

Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Attention to detail and precision in work. Good physical and mental strength; ability to work for long, flexible hours and in various weather conditions. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Excellent mechanical and technical skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces. Manual dexterity and good handeye coordination. Flexibility to work in tight spaces or awkward positions. Good vision and hearing to ensure safety and quality in work.
