Monday-Friday , 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (occasional overtime as needed) Shop-based role with periodic install prep and loadout support About the Role Dovetail is one of Texas' premier architectural manufacturing companies, building iconic spaces with custom wood, metal, and stonework for the most ambitious commercial projects in the state. From skyline-defining towers to elite sports venues, we bring complex architectural visions to life with precision, craftsmanship, and grit. We're not a production shop — we're a build-it-from-scratch environment. Every project is unique, and every part is built in-house with exacting standards. As a Metal Fabricator, you'll work on custom metal doors, windows, frames, ornamental panels, ceiling features, railings, and architectural details that define the look and feel of luxury commercial interiors. If you love fabricating complex, beautiful things out of raw metal — and want to be surrounded by others who do too — this is the place. Key Responsibilities Read & build from shop drawings and architectural details Cut, prep, and weld metal to tight tolerances with MIG and TIG (dual-process preferred) Blend, grind, and finish metalwork to meet project and spec requirements Operate common shop tools and lifting equipment (shear, brake, cold saw, forklift, etc.) Maintain your workstation, tools, and work in a clean, safe manner Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and installers to clarify build details Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and come up with smart, clean solutions Qualifications Requirements 3-5 years minimum of architectural or ornamental metal fabrication Strong MIG welding required; TIG proficiency strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings Experience with custom architectural components — not just production work High attention to detail, finish, and layout Grit, hustle, and problem-solving attitude Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision Valid driver's license Preferred Certification in 3G/4G FCAW or SMAW a plus (not required) Success Characteristics The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong work ethic, ownership, and personal accountability High integrity in decision-making and communication A proactive, solution-oriented mindset Attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement Positive attitude and team-first mentality Clear, respectful, and effective communication skills
Compensation & Benefits Compensation:
$20-28 per hour (Based on Experience)
