Job Summary The Metal Fabricator is responsible for operating and maintaining metal fabrication machinery to produce high-quality steel components to exact specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and precision. Fabricators play a key role in maintaining production flow, meeting customer requirements, and ensuring consistent quality standards. Key Responsibilities Operate and adjust metal fabrication machinery, including press brakes, roll formers, shears, and punch machines to meet production specifications. Read and interpret prints, schematics, and job travelers to determine proper setup and tooling. Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures) to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to quality standards. Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and changeovers to maintain optimal machine performance. Document production activity, quality checks, and machine adjustments accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Participate in team problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience ina metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. Prior experience driving forklifts (warehouse, counterbalance, and heavy-duty style). Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and precision measuring skills. Ability to read and interpret prints, schematics, and process documentation. Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented with the ability to meet production deadlines. Physically able to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods. Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening. Reliable transportation required.
